Bol d’Or du Léman this weekend: tradition, innovation and passion.

Geneva, June 12, 2025 – The 86th edition of the Bol d’Or du Léman will take place this weekend from the Société Nautique de Genève. More than 400 yachts and some 2,000 sailors are expected to take part in this great celebration of the lake, on a course theoretically 123 kilometers long, from Geneva to Le Bouveret and back.

A true celebration of the lake and of sailing, the Bol d’Or du Léman embodies sporting excellence as much as a spirit of innovation and sharing. The event is open to the general public, who will have access to the Esplanade du Pavillon des Sports, the North Jetty and the brand-new Ylliam Lighthouse, which will be used for the first time as a portside finish line marker.

An open, lively village and local flavours.

The club will be welcoming visitors all weekend, from Friday June 13 to Sunday June 15. The opening ceremony on Friday evening will bring together sailors and enthusiasts. The Cercle des Agriculteurs, the Cave de Genève and the Union Maraichère de Genève will be showcasing local produce: fruit juices, wines, beers and local specialities will delight the taste buds of competitors and visitors alike.

A regatta at the top – TF35 favorites

On the sporting front, the TF35 hydrofoil catamarans will be the big favorites in the scratch rankings, with three standout crews: Sails of Change 8 (Yann Guichard), winner of last weekend’s TF 35 Grand Prix, Realteam Spirit (Jérôme Clerc) and Ylliam 17 (Julien Firmenich), which just won the Genève-Rolle-Genève. The new X-WING team, which includes former members of Team Alinghi, will also be making its debut.

With light winds forecast, we’ll also be keeping a close eye on Christian Wahl’s Décision 35 w-team (accompanied by Justine Mettraux), as well as the archimedean M2s, which could play spoilsport in the Bol de Basalte for the hydrofoilless multihulls.

Generational duel in the monohulls

The Bol de Vermeil will pit the Léman sleds created in the 1980s and the Libera Carondimonio against more modern composite monohulls. K2, last year’s winner, is the arch-favorite of the race in the absence of the Libera Raffica. Its main opponents will be Katana, Psaros 40 and 33, as well as innovative units such as AC9F Tixwave and Thomas Jundt’s QFX. The Surprise category, the mainstay of the Bol, could once again bring together over 100 units.

Justine Mettraux, ambassador 2025

The first woman in the last Vendée Globe, and eighth overall, Justine Mettraux is the official ambassador of the Bol d’Or 2025. She will take part in the race aboard the Décision 35 w-team.
