The Bol d’Or DU LÉMAN is one of the world’s most important regattas in a closed basin.
A FOCUS FOR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY SINCE 1939, IT IS A SHOWCASE OF SWISS SAILING THAT BRINGS TOGETHER PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR SAILORS ON THE SAME COURSE. COMPETITORS RACE FROM GENEVA TO LE BOUVERET AND BACK, A TOTAL OF 123 KM AROUND LAKE GENEVA.
PRESENTATION
A true lake festival organized by the Société Nautique de Genève, it’s a not-to-be-missed event for the large number of spectators who attend the departure of over 400 boats and 2,500 crew every year. It is one of the classics and a bucket-list event for most sailors.
The Bol d’Or du Léman is also more than 150 volunteers on land and on the water, welcoming and advising participants and the public at the Société Nautique de Genève (SNG). not to mention the SNG port authorities and the large Clubhouse team.

THE BOL D’OR CHALLENGE
Presented to the first boat to cross the finish line. It must be won three times in five years by the same owner or association of owners to be retained by the winning team. The winner of the challenge receives a silver replica of the Bol d’Or.
THE BOL DE VERMEIL CHALLENGE
Presented to the first monohull to cross the finish line. It must be won three times in five years by the same owner or association of owners to be retained by the winning team. The winner of the challenge receives a silver replica.
THE BOL DE CARBONE CHALLENGE
Rewards the first foiler to cross the finish line. It must be won three times in five years by the same owner or association of owners to be retained by the winning team. The winner of the challenge receives a silver replica.
THE BOL DE BASALTE CHALLENGE
Awarded to the first multihull to cross the finish line. It must be won three times in five years by the same owner or association of owners to be retained by the winning team. The winner of the challenge receives a silver replica.
ACVL – SRS TROPHY
Awarded by the Association des Clubs de Voile Lémaniques to the winner in compensated time, all SRS-rated monohull classes combined.
TIN BOWL
The winner of each class receives a pewter replica of the Bol d’Or.
PRIZES
Prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class.
THE SOCIÉTÉ NAUTIQUE DE GENÈVE
Founded in 1872, the Société Nautique de Genève is dedicated to the promotion and development of water sports. . It is the largest sports club in Switzerland and today has more than 4,200 members across four sectors: Propeller, Rowing, ‘Light Yachting’ and ‘Cercle de la Voile’. The SNG is the only European club to have won the America’s Cup twice. It will be represented again in 2024 under the colours of Alinghi Red Bull Racing.
