FOLLOWING THE RACE FROM ASHORE

THE BOL D’OR DU LÉMAN VILLAGE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The Bol d’Or du Léman Village is located on the esplanade in front of the Sports Pavilion and will be the gathering place for the opening ceremony, winner celebrations and the prize-giving. The race office and press area are also located in this new, modern, and user-friendly space.

The organisers have planned three free live concerts open to all on the Bol d’Or du Léman stage built onboard ‘La Neptune’, on Friday and Saturday evenings and on Sunday afternoon.

Start of the regatta

WHERE?

The two start lines are positioned upstream of the Société Nautique de Genève, stretching from the left bank to the right bank, opposite the Port Tunnel. To see the start of the regatta we recommend the following options: the Vengeron beach if you are on the Right Bank, or along the Cologny quay, or the Pré Byron, if you are on the Left Bank.

FOLLOWING THE RACE ON THE WATER

If you want to observe the Bol d’Or du Léman in another way, embark on one of the Compagnie Générale de Navigation’s line or cruise ships. (www.cgn.ch), with possible catering on board.

RULES FOR FOLLOWER BOATS

  1. Respect the exclusion zones (start, clearing mark, Bouveret). At the start and by police order, all spectator boats are forbidden from 09:30 to approx 10:30, depending on the weather.
  2. Avoid making waves and proceed at low speed.
  3. Do not get too close to the racing boats. Minimum distance: 50 metres for monohulls, 100 metres for multihulls. Stay as far as possible behind the racing boats.
  4. Always position yourself so that you can get out of the way quickly, with the bow pointing towards a clear area.
  5. Respect the instructions of the official boats (RACE COMMITEE, JURY, OBSERVER) and of the surveillance boats (yellow and black SNG flags), of the port authority boats and of the lake police and/or rescue boats.

EXCLUSION ZONES STARTING LINE

The start of the Bol d’Or du Léman will be launched on two lines (North and South). The line of monohulls (South) will be located 400 meters downstream from that of multihulls (North). All competitors will start at the same time, at 10:00

Respect a safety perimeter of at least 150 meters around these passage marks so as not to hinder the progress of competitors.
